Got big dreams and exciting business ideas, but frozen by fear and overthinking? We've all been there.

Today, I'll let you in on how to overcome procrastination and overthinking, and get down to business.

The secret is in understanding The Mechanics Of Progress.

Clock's ticking darling, and your business isn't going to launch itself.

Let's make it happen. TikTok.

It's funny how often, the smartest people are the ones that end up falling into the trap of overthinking and procrastination - products of our safety-seeking brains.

That's why whenever I work with a new client on growing their business i instruct them on our #1 unbreakable guideline:  Speed of implementation.

Your success will be determined by how fast can you bring an idea you have in your head — into realization.

This is the ultimate divider between:

🟢 Entrepreneurs - who are out in the world, doing things and gaining wins under their belts, and…
🔴 Wantrepreneurs - who spend most of their time learning about business, while giving everyone else textbook advice about it.

So in the next section I’ll share with you a simple process, breaking apart the mechanics of progress:

It's a quick, 5-step strategy to help you escape the chains of overthinking and analysis paralysis.

Stick with it for a month and prepare to see more progress than in the previous six.

So buckle up. Things are about to start moving... fast.

🟣Step 1: Flip the script: From “Failing” to “Gaining Experience”

Honesty time:

if you’re thinking about your business and not acting within your business right now, most chances are it’s because you’re afraid to fail.

But, hello!

If you’re not taking action — isn’t failure pretty much guaranteed?

Instead, I suggest you start seeing your action taking like “practicing”:

  • You’re practicing your skills.
  • Practicing watching data come in as a result of an action you took.

It’s the only way you get get better.

Take Michael Jordan for example:

He’s arguably the greatest basketball player of all time:

Won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, and was named Finals MVP each time.

However, Jordan also happens to holds the NBA record for most missed field goals in a game.

Coincident? I don’t think so.

Only by taking a shot — can you score. Remember that.

🟣 Step 2: Take one small action forward

When an idea pops into your head — take action to move it forward within 24 hours.

Doesn't matter how small it is.

  • Want to launch your product? Set a date in your calendar.
  • Want to start social media? Post your first post.

My point?

You need to turn the idea from an amorphic concept in your head — to something tangible:

  • You want to build a Twitter following? Start posting tweets.
  • You want to launch a digital course? Plan it out and build your sales page.
  • You want to begin consulting on the side? Clean up your Linkedin profile.

Your action could be something that takes only 2 minutes to complete.

But once you have?

You’ve officially took your idea from a concept in your head, into the real world.

Doing this takes the pressure off, because your idea doesn’t just grow in your head.

It's real now. it’s moving. it's happening.

🟣Step 3: Forget about motivation. Focus on your calendar

So, you've taken that small, initial step.

Your idea? It's out there in the real world now.

Next, you need to start building momentum,

so you can begin seeing early signs of success.

That’s the only way you can gain true, long term success:

By performing the same action again, and again, and again.

Picture your idea as a plant 🌱

You can't just put it in the ground, water it once, and expect a flourishing garden.

Nope, it needs water and fertilizer on a regular basis, or it would die.

The problem is… life is busy.

Work. family. that yoga class you swear you'll start attending. It’s a lot.

So, how do you ensure your idea gets the attention it needs?

Simple: Schedule it into your calendar.

My golden rule of business is this: if it's not in my calendar, it's not happening.

This technique is called time blocking.

It's when you carve specific space in your calendar to do or make progress in projects that matter.

  • So if you want to start creating consistent content on the socials? schedule 2 hours of writing at the beginning of each day.
  • Looking to build a new skill, let’s say copywriting? Schedule 1 hour or studying at end of each work day.
  • Eager to create your first digital product? Schedule 60 minutes of progress right after dinner.

You’ll be amazed at how many things you can achieve by simply putting them in your calendar, and then following it like a disciplined soldier.

Yes, it'll feel awkward and uncomfortable at first.

Like a new pair of shoes.

But keep at it, and soon that habit will be set, and your project is happening IRL.

🟣Step 4: Focus on consistency, not results

You know when you start a new workout routine and expect to wake up looking like a model?

Yeah. Not that’s never actually happened, right?

In fact, you expecting to see a result this early is probably the fastest route to "I give up" town.

Same goes for your business:

If you post your third Twitter tweet and expect to go viral, or launch your product for the first time and feel disappointed because it didn't hit six figures…

…you’re not focusing on the right things.

You’re already breaking the most important rule we learned in step 1:

Focus on gaining experience, not on gaining results.

So instead, I want you to focus on one thing: Consistency.

Focus on showing up every day, and doing the work.

Give it 3 months of consistent action before you even think about checking results.

I’ve worked with hundreds of clients, and with some of the top creators in their industry.

Shockingly enough, non of them stroke me as “extraordinary people”.

What they are, are normal people performing normal tasks, consistently.

That’s it.

So as you move forward, focus on showing up and the small wins you accumulate along the way:

  • Gaining your first 100 subscribers
  • Booking your first, paying client
  • Making your first $1000 dollars.
  • Posting consistently for 3 months straight.

Those are the small wins that add up, leading to the big ones.

🟣Step 4: Focus on consistency, not results

K, so by now you’re in the trenches. Your business is growing.

Your last step?

Start measuring your progress.

It’s crucial not only for your motivation, but also so you can get better and better results in time.

Imagine you're working on your fitness - the mirror isn't the best judge.

But a picture every month? That'll show you how far you've come.

Look at my Youtube growth for example:

It’s easy to spot the place where I started posting consistently, isn’t it?

Same for you.

Open a fresh Google Sheet doc, and choose specific metrics you can measure:

  • Your email list size
  • Number of followers
  • Number of sales
  • Revenue
  • Etc

Track them diligently, every week or every month.

🟣 TL;DR Summary
  • Overthinking is the one thing that will kill your success the fastest.
  • The one variable in your success as an entrepreneur is your speed of implementation:
  • How fast can you bring an idea or a thought you have in your head — into realization.
  • To do this:
    • STEP 1: Flip the script in your head: From “Failing” to “Gaining Experience”
    • STEP 2: Take one small action forward every day on your business or idea
    • STEP 3: Schedule time to work on your project into your calendar
    • STEP 4: Focus on consistency, not on results
    • STEP 5: Measure your progress religiously

  • That’s it for today. See you next Saturday!
