Since it came out, ChatGPT has completely transformed my business.

I now:

✅ Create 10X content than before
✅ Serve 5X clients than before
✅ Earn 3X the income I did before

All thanks to one, $20/month tool.

The thing is… most of my clients (most of them are small business owners and influencers) don’t share my perspective.

They keep telling me ChatGPT:

❌ Never gives them the answers they are looking for,
❌ Produces generic content that’s boring af.

If you feel the same, let me tell you what I tell them:

If ChatGPT is not working for you, it’s because you haven’t learned how to use it…. yetTalking to AI is a skill you need to learn.

So today, I’ll share with you a simple, 7 element prompt formula that will help you craft the perfect ChatGPT prompt every time you talk to it.

This will make sure you get the responses you want, and can grow your business faster.

I’ll first share the different elements, and then show you an example.

Let’s dive in.

🤖 Element 1: Expert persona

Start by identifying the type of expert persona you want ChatGPT to play at the moment.

What kind of expert does it need to be to deliver the best results for you?

For example:

  • World class direct-response copywriter
  • An expert in children’s education
  • An expert social media manager

🤖 Element 2: Specific task description

Next, you want to define the exact task you want ChatGPT to perform.

What content you want it to write?

Be as specific as you can, to let ChatGPT know what type of content you want to create, and what you want it to be about.

For example:

  • A webinar about starting a career as a Marine biologist?
  • A Facebook ad selling your $7 Vegan recipe eBook?
  • A social media post on the topic of productivity?

🤖 Element 3: Format and length

Follow your task description with the exact format and length you want it to be at.

This will make sure ChatGPT won’t ramble too much, or share too little.

For example:

  • A 60 minute webinar
  • A 150 character Facebook ad copy

🤖 Element 4: Clear objective

Now you want to emphasis the objective you have for ChatGPT’s task.
What is the ultimate goal it will strive to achieve?

For example:

  • A social media post that encourages comments
  • An email subject line that will achieve the highest email open rate possible

🤖 Element 5: Data, notes or perspective

This is the secret aspect to make sure your content doesn’t turn out boring and generic.

Share your notes, specific data you want it to include, or your general thoughts.

The more information ChatGPT will have about what you generally had in mind for your content, the more accurate and aligned content you are going to get back.

🤖 Element 6: Tone of voice

The tone of voice will let ChatGPT know how you want the copy to sound or feel like.

This is crucial for creating content that sounds like you and is aligned with how you want to present yourself online.

For example:

  • Witty
  • Inspirational
  • Conversational

🤖 Element 7: Target audience

Lastly, share who are you looking to target with this piece of content.

This will helps ChatGPT to craft your content to suite your audience’s key pain points and desires.

🤖 Here’s the perfect prompt formula:

  • You are an {Expert persona}.

  • {Clear task} {Format & length} {Clear objective}.
  • The output should include the following relevant information: {Relevant information or perspective}
  • The writing style should be {tone of voice} and targeted towards {target audience}.

Here’s an example of this prompt in action:

And here’s the result ChatGPT gave me:

From there, I can ask it to edit my copy to perfection:

✅ Adjusting the length
✅ Tweaking the messaging
✅ Adding or removing sections while replacing them with something else
✅ Etc, etc.

Simple, right?

That’s it for this week.

See you next week on another issue of The Digital CEO!
