In this issue of the Digital CEO I’ll pull back the curtain on the exact 5-step framework I personally use to write POWERFUL copy for any kind of content you can imagine.

I've use this simple method every day to write ads, emails, campaigns, video scripts, webinars — you name it — for some of the biggest brands and most influential names out there

The best part? It's not rocket science.

It's just a straightforward approach that's worked great for me, and I believe it can do the same for you.

But first, some facts:

Most people get incredibly excited when they hear about the incredible potential of AI, especially for for writing.

But after trying some free tools or prompts they downloaded from twitter — the results are usually underwhelming, generic, and just not usable.

Here’s why this happens:

AI is not a mind reader. You have to teach it what good content looks like, before it can create it for you.

Once AI understands what is it you like, what you consider to be “good content” — only then can it help you create it.

So here’s how I use AI in a simple 5 step framework to write anything:

Step 1: Decide on what you want to write

Start with getting clear on the type of content you want to write (an email? A script for a reel? A digital product intro?), and what you want to say in it.

Remember: AI’s job is to help you express your perspective better. Not create it from scratch.

For example:

I want to write a headline for my sales page. In it, I want to promise young women they will learn how to do their makeup in less than 15 minutes in the morning, and have it look clean and professional and last all day even if they’ve never done makeup before.

Step 2: Find 3-5 examples of content you like

Next, you’ll need to teach AI how “good content” looks like, to you.

So in this step, find 2-5 examples of content you like that the AI can model the structure of.

For example, here’s a headline I liked and would like to model:

What's the stupidly simple secret that's helped 15,000+ busy dads ditch the dad bod and crush cravings for junk food and sweet treats in just 90 days

(without counting calories, living at the gym, or ditching their game day brews)

Remember, to do this for 3-5 different examples, so you can have options.

Step 3: Transform the content into a template

Now it’s time to turn the content pieces you found into a template AI can easily model.

For example, here’s how I broke apart the headline from the previous step:

What's the {phrase for east method} that's helped {my target market} to {get rid of their #1 problem or pain} and {get rid of their #2 problem or pain} in just X days.

(without {doing the #1 thing they don’t like to do}, {doing the #2 thing they don’t like to do} or {doing the #3 thing they don’t like to do} )

Step 4: Write a detailed prompt to put into AI

One final step before the magic happens:

Combine what you wanted to say with your newly created content-template into a prompt AI can understand.

Remember to always share with AI:

- What you do
- Who is your target audience
- What is the goal of the content
- The template you used
- Attach the example you found

For example, my prompt can look something like this:

Hi, I’m a makeup artist. My target audience are young professional career women who want clean and elegant makeup that looks natural and appropriate for the office.

Please help me want to write a headline for my sales page, selling a digital course teaching my target audience how to do their morning makeup.

In they headline I want to promise them they will learn how to do their makeup in less than 15 minutes in the morning, and have it look clean and professional and last all day even if they never done makeup before.

Your task: Please write 5 variations for my headline based on the following formula:

What's the {phrase for east method} that's helped {my target market} to {get rid of their #1 problem or pain} and {get rid of their #2 problem or pain} in just X days

*(without {doing the #1 thing they don’t like to do}, {doing the #2 thing they don’t like to do} or {doing the #3 thing they don’t like to do} )

Here’s an example of this template being used in another market:

What's the stupidly simple secret that's helped 15,000+ busy dads ditch the dad bod and crush cravings for junk food and sweet treats in just 90 days
(without counting calories, living at the gym, or ditching their game day brews)

Step 5: Watch the magic happen

Plugging the prompt above into my AI tool, here’s what I got:

In case you can't read the screenshot, here's the headline AI gave me:

What's the effortless makeup routine that's helped thousands of young professional women achieve a flawless, long-lasting look and save precious morning minutes in just 15 days

(without investing in expensive products, mastering complex techniques, or waking up at the crack of dawn)?

And guess what?

You now have a prompt template you can use again and again for every sales page headline you’ll ever write in the future.

So you invest a little bit of time and patience sharpening your axe in the beginning, but then can execute that much faster and easier in the future.

Summary:

To write great content you’ll be proud of using AI follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Decide on what you want to write
  • Step 2: Find 3-5 examples of content pieces you like
  • Step 3: Break them down into templates
  • Step 4: Write a prompt
  • Step 5: Watch the magic happen

I hope you give this a try. This can transform the way you do business and put you miles ahead of everyone else in your space.

See you next week.
